Looking for a scholarship to help reduce the cost of attending school?  Or perhaps you are looking for a summer internship or cooperative experience with a company.  Welcome to the SWE opportunities page.  On this page you will find information about scholarships, internships, co-ops, and full-time jobs offered exclusively to you because you are a SWE member.

Don’t forget to check out SWE’s Career Center at http://careers.swe.org/.  On the Career Center page, employers and recruiters can access your resume!  All you have to do is sign up and post your resume.  From the Career Center page, you can seek out jobs that you have an interest in.

Greetings from the Hispanic Scholarship Fund!

As the scholarship outreach and promotion coordinator I am emailing you because you may be eligible for the HSF/Nissan North America Scholarship Program! HSF and Nissan North America have come together to provide scholarships of up to $5,000 to outstanding Latino college students who will be entering the 2012-2013 academic year as a  Sophomore, Junior, Senior, 5th-Year senior and to Masters students majoring in of the following areas:

  • Advertising
  • Accounting
  • Human Resources Management
  • International Relations
  • Marketing
  • Public Relations
  • Business Discipline
  • Engineering Discipline

Students must have a permanent address or attend an institution in one of the following areas:

Research Opportunities

Interested in research in sustainability?  Kansas State and Rochester Institute of Technology are both looking for interested students.  Kansas State offers undergraduate and Rochester Institute of Technology offers graduate research opportunities in sustainability.  Check out the brochures below or click on the following links for more information.

Colorado Center for Biorefining and Biofuels Research Experience for Undergraduates * Flyer * Website *

The Colorado Center for Biorefining and Biofuels (C2B2) is a cooperative research and educational center devoted to the conversion of biomass to fuels and other products.  The program runs from May 30th to August 8th, 2012.  The deadline for this program is February 26th, 2012.

Collaborative Research Activities with China on Thermal and Fluid Transport in Fuel Cells * Flyer * Website *

This International Research Experience for Students (IRES) program is hosted by the department of mechanical engineering at Oakland University (OU) and the department of power engineering at Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) China. The objective of the IRES site is to annually provide five U.S. engineering students (4 undergraduates and one graduate) with the unique opportunity to spend ~8 weeks working on fuel cell collaborative research between Oakland University and Beijing Jiaotong University. The research focus of this program is on the critical area of the water and thermal transport problems in fuel cells. Students will spend more than 4 weeks at BJTU.  Women and minorities are highly encouraged to apply!  This program runs from May21 to July 15, 2012.  The application deadline is February 2nd, 2012.  Fill out your application as soon as possible and be sure not to miss this fast approaching deadline.
