Call for Bids for Hosting FY12 Region H Conference

It’s that time of year to submit bids for hosting the 2012 Region I Conference! The 2011 Region H Conference will be hosted by the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in Michigan. For more information on the conference, the website is now available. (
Hosting a SWE Regional Conference is a great opportunity for professional and collegiate sections as well as MAL’s to feature their SWE leadership, engineering community and hometown charm. It can even be a fundraising event for your section! In the past Region H conferences have been attended by over 700 members from multiple SWE regions.
The following schedule outlines the bid submittal and selection process:
Bid Process Deadlines:

  • November 22 (extension): School Intent to bid is known – send notice to Lt. Governor  
  • December 1: Bid Presentations due to Lt. Governor at
  • December 12: Lt. Governor returns Bid Presentations with comments
  • January 19: 1 page summary sheet of bid is due for distribution to all collegiate & professional sections
  • February 5: 5 minute bid presentations presented at Region Conference in Ann Arbor, MI during the Breakfast Joint Meeting
