Technology Tuesday: Faster Than A Speeding Bullet!

Technology Tuesday is moving like hot cakes today.  Faster than a speeding bullet.  Actually one million times faster than a speeding bullet.  What is it?  Photons.  Media Lab researchers and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed a virtual slow motion camera.

The slow motion camera is used to capture multiple images in one dimension.  Through the use of two mirrors rotating, the team is able to combine all of the images to create a short scene.

This technology will benefit a broad range of fields.  The slow motion camera can be used to analyze the defects in materials.  In the medical field, ultrasounds can be performed.

How could you use this technology in the future for your field?

More information about these cameras can be found on the New york Times page here.
