The award winning SWE-Detroit (SWE-D) Professional Development Conference continues its success and is one of SWE-D’s signature events. This year the conference will be jointly hosted by NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers), SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) and SWE.  This coalition is referred to as Coalition of Minority Professional Engineering Societies (COMPES).  We believe this will bring additional value to the participant from a networking opportunity.

Attendees will take advantage of the lessons learned in overcoming the challenges presented to minorities as well as fresh topics central to the theme of Thriving on Diversity. Challenges to be addressed during this conference are:

·       Maintain Technical Strength

·       Soft Skill Development

·       Understand Challenges around Diversity in the Workplace
