Transitioning

I can’t believe it’s May.  Graduatestransition in their caps and gowns are celebrating their achievements earned over their time in school.  I’d like to take the time to congratulate all college graduates on behalf of Region H!  While it is a time for new beginnings, it is important to make sure that you transition your current roles over to the new board members.  Here are some recommendations to make the task easier.

  • Meet in person with the person who will be taking over your position.  Go over your job duties, frequent tasks, and best practices.
  • Give the person a transition binder with all documents needed to help them do their job.
  • Exchange cell phone and email information in case a problem arises during the early part of the transition.
  • For the new leader, make sure to ask questions.  You will be able to learn more if you do this.  Remember there is no such thing as a dumb question.
