Rachel Kagan is a Sophomore double majoring in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Rachel joined the Society of Women Engineers during her freshman year, serving as Recruitment and Retention Director. She is serving as a Career Fair Director this year to assist with running the University’s Fall Career Fair. Rachel recently took on the role of Region H Collegiate Financial Mentor. Beyond classes and her involvement in SWE, Rachel serves as Treasurer for Innovative Engineers and works on the Blade Design Team to design a low cost, efficient wind turbine to implement in Nicaragua. She is a student researcher in the Azarin Lab within the Department of Chemical Engineering and Material Science. Rachel worked at a STEM Academy camp during the summer teaching first through fifth graders about engineering and computer programming. She is looking forward to working as a Production Management Engineer at Cargill in Iowa Falls, Iowa in a co-op beginning in January of 2016.
